Kindness exists!

"Thank you Sharif " I  got down from the car and reached the apartment at third floor. After work I used to take shower and when I opened the tap, water was not coming. Being new to the place I have not stored any water for emergency as I was told there was 24 hours water supply. Also I did not have any sorage containers. The water from the tap is pure potable water you can drink directly!! I  called Sharif, the driver assigned to me, and told him about the water. He told that some maintenance might be happening and probably be resuming later.
It was 5:00 p.m. I just changed the dress and sat in living room waiting for water.
I am in Kizilyurt, a small town in the Republic of Dagestan in the Russian Federation. There was a small cement factory facing quality issues. My friend Hasan asked my  help. Earlier I visited in Oct-Nov 2018. Gave some suggestions which were duly accepted and implemented. They called me again.I suggested to find an apartment instead of hotel and I was provided with one.
Now to continue the story: By 6:30 p.m. I came down to find out actually what was going on about the water. In the Russian settlements - village, town or big cities-  there will be always benches in front of the apartment entrances, walkways, parks etc. I saw an old woman- older than me- sitting. I asked her in Russian about the water issue. She also told that it should resume by 8:00 p.m. I retuned to the room and was waiting for the water to make supper.
By 8:00 p.m. I heard a knock in the front door. I was surprised because I was new and I did not expect any visitors. On opening the door I saw the same old woman carrying a six litre water bottle. She told me that the water might resume only by the next day and asked me to have this water. So thoughtful!  I did not know what to say! I thanked her and took that. She asked if there were any empty bottles.  I found two and she took them with her. After some time she came and asked me to go to ground floor to bring the water filled bottles as she could not climb three floors. She was living in the second floor. She went somewhere and brought water for a complete stranger! I was overwhelmed!
The water was helpful for the night and the next day morning.
I went to work . While returning after work in the evening she was sitting in the same bench. She smiled , we exchanged greetings. The water resumed.  I went out to the supermarket for shopping. Bought a delicious cake & fruit juice and while returning I saw her sitting with friends. I offered her the cake and juice, she smiled and said she did not eat these! I requested her to accept and offer to her grandchildren! Reluctantly she took.
We meet daily now and exchange smiles and greetings!
Good people exist !

அம்மா லீலாவதி

எந்நேரம் யாம் வந்த போதும்
கண்களில் கரை புரளும் வாஞ்சை!
அன்னமிட்டு , ஆதரவாய் பேசி
உண்ண வைத்து உபசரித்து
கண்ணேறு கழித்து, ஆசிர்வதித்து
சென்று வா என்று சொலும் அன்னையே!
இனி எங்கே காண்பேன் உன்னையே?
புன்னகை மாறாத முகமெங்கே?
நெற்றியில் திருநீறிடும் கரமெங்கே?
வற்றாத அன்பு சொரியும் கண்ணெங்கே?
அன்பே சொல்லாய், அன்பே வாழ்வாய்,
அன்பே செயலாய், அன்பே உருவாய்
அரு வாழ்வு வாழ்ந்த அன்னையே!
உனை இழந்து என்ன செய்வோம் இனிமேல்?
அய்யா சென்றதும் அகம் நொந்து
அய்யாவைத்  தேடி அங்கு சென்றீரோ?
ஐயகோ என் செய்வோம் நாங்கள்?
தெய்வமாய் இருந்தீர்! தெய்மாகவே ஆனீர்!
இறையே விரும்பி உம்மை
இங்கே வா என்றழைத்துக்  கொண்டாரோ?
எங்கள் இதயத்தில் வீற்றிருக்கும் அன்னையே
என்றும் எம்மை காத்தருள்வீர்!

என் உயிர்

அளக்க முடியுமா அந்த துக்கத்தை?
அதிகபட்சத்தின் அளவுகோல் இது தானா?
அன்பே! எனைப் புரிந்து கொண்ட ஆருயிரே!
இன்னுயிர் துறந்தாய் என் இதயம் வெடிக்க!
அறிந்தும் அறியாப் பருவ திருமணம்,
ஆயினும் இணைந்தது நம் இருமணம்
கண்களைப் போல் இரண்டு செல்வங்கள்
கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தோம் பலப்பல தேசங்கள்
உழைத்தோம் உயர்ந்தோம்  உயர்வித்தோம்!
பெற்றோரை பேணிக் காத்தோம்.
ஓட்டு வீட்டில் வாழ்க்கையைத் தொடங்கினோம்
ஓரெட்டு வீடுகள் கட்டினோம் பின்னர் .
நீ வந்த பின் நினைத்தது நடந்தது.
அன்னையாய் , அன்புத் துணையாய்
சகோதரியாய், மகளாய், மருமகளாய்
எப் பணியும் சிறப்புற செய்தவளே!
என் நெஞ்சில் நிறைந்தவளே!
எங்கே சென்றாய் என்னை விட்டு?
சுத்தம் , சுகாதரம் நித்தம் காத்து,
எப்பொருள் எங்கென்று நியமம் வகுத்து
கேட்டதை நொடியில் எடுத்துத் தருவாயே!
விட்டு விட்டு எங்கே சென்றாய் நீ?
அருண் திருமணம் முடித்தேன்- உன்
ஆவல் படியே செய்தேன்!
அகிலாவின் வாழ்க்கையை அமைத்து
அதன் பின் வருவேன் உன்னிடம்!
குழந்தைகளைக் காப்பாய் ! குலதெய்வமாய் இருப்பாய்!
மழலை அருள் தந்து அவர் வாழ்வில் வளம் சேர்ப்பாய்!
கொஞ்சம் பொறு வந்து விடுவேன்!
